12/9/2020: Radio Dabanga – Darfur internal peace dialogue proposed to Gov Aliyu

 Radio Dabanga report that the Governor of East Darfur, Mohammed Aliyu, received a proposal for an internal dialogue on Darfur, initiated by Abdelwahid al-Nur, a factional leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement.

 The proposal was submitted by delegation of the Darfur Displaced and Refugees General Coordination. A member of the delegation, Bakri Khalil said the proposal intends to solve the Darfur crisis from within and “permanently solve all outstanding problems in Darfur,” the initiative reportedly addresses issues faced by displaced people and refugees, and focuses on coexistence, reconciliation, and unity.

 All five governors in Darfur have been informed about the initiative, and have shown support for the social components of the initiative, Khalid added.
