 Sudan Tribune reports that Mohammed Zakaria, the spokesman for the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF), said that the Forces of Freedom and Change’s (FFC) consultation meetings with the SRF in Cairo, are merely public relations exercises, as the FFC has no mandate to respond to SRF demands.

 At the invitation of the Egyptian government, the FFC and the SRF started consultation meetings in Cairo, to discuss the SRF’s demand that the interim constitutional declaration includes guarantees of the primacy of peace agreements. The SRF rejects the constitutional declaration as it stands.

 Zakaria questioned the FFC’s ability to fulfil its promises to include the SRF’s peace proposals. One of the leaders of the FFC political groups, Sadiq Al Mahdi, said that he sent a message to SRF groups that that the FFC can achieve peace via its 67% majority in Sudan’s parliament.
