In an interview with Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, Mohamed Nagi Al-Asam, a prominent member of the Sudanese Professionals Association (SPA), stressed that the SPA will continue to push for their demands to be met by the TMC through peaceful means such as political strikes or civil disobedience.
Al Asam suggests that the TMC is trying to extend the transitionary phase as much as possible so that it can increase its power and influence, citing the various executive decisions the TMC has made since holding power.
Moreover, he suggests that the Bashir regime is yet to be completely uprooted and that the TMC is but a continued legacy of it
Al Asam goes on to expresses admiration for the role that the youth have played in the revolution and expresses hope that negotiations with TMC will lead to something.
